JFI was founded in 1990 as Knapp Communication Engineering, Inc. (KCE), an innovative global security and communication engineering company. KCE developed mathematical models of complex global applications to aid in the designing of reliable and secure integrated systems. These services were provided to its Global Fortune Clients in the fields of energy, electronics, microelectronics, semiconductor, space communications, financials, medical research, healthcare and health and beauty manufacturing.

JFI's core services expanded from KCE's complex mathematical modeling services to focus on scientific research and discovery in the field of Green Energy. To date, JFI has achieved patent pending status on break-through and highly sought after future technologies in Green Energy and Semiconductor.
